I thought I'd share our latest skin details for you -
It's a remake of the most popular skin downloaded - which, after tallying all the downloads we've had for the last 6 months, it appears the XDMediaBlue remains the top downoaded skin, closely followed by XDDesignAway.
I was a bit surprised by all this, but my goal was to take the most popular downloaded skin and improve it for a new release. We're a bit time short here and so I took in the shortcomings of the most popular skin and hopefully improved it to be as good, if not better, than about 80% of the commercial skins you buy around off the shelf. (Yes I am amazed at what people sell)

Some of the features of this skin include -
- 1024 wide screen layout
- Web 2.0 soft rounded corners
- Drop Shadows around complete skin
- Simple page structure
- Less Tables (no not completely tableless)
- Nav Menu as per the upcoming menu structure promoted by DotNetNuke
- Updated Containers
- Simplified Flash - (just change the montage on he background to embed your logo)
- For Snapsis Users, a snapsis version
- Update without losing integrity of existing layouts (Eg XDMediaBlue format)
- Language Token embedded
- Improved and enhanced Search look and feel
- Extensive Cross browser checking - Safari, Firefox, Opera, Netscape, IE 6 & 7
In general, an analysis on things learnt over the last three years when this skin was originally released and improvements on design and methods.
I think this is a great skin to look at and learn from if you're wanting to design your own skins.
I hope to bring out a few more colours and have othe options available for sale, so we can keep supporting this project. To date, this skin involves about 70 hours of work to modify, create, change and test.. the testing took around 1/3 of the time.
I would be interested to hear your comments or experiences with this - we've tested as far as we could but of course - it's a big world and lots of scenarious.
I would love to hear from anyone using it on their site too.
